Portugal striker Nuno Gomes could be on his way to the Premiership following the relegation of Fiorentina, according to his agent.
The Florence club were demoted to Serie C yesterday by the Italian football federation because of their financial problems and their big-name players, as a result, immediately became free agents.
Nuno Gomes, 26, shot to fame with Portugal at Euro 2000 and, despite a disappointing couple of years in Florence, is still the most attractive of the players made available because of his age.
Manchester United, where former Portugal coach Carlos Queiroz is now Alex Ferguson's number two, could be among the player's suitors after manager Sir Alex Ferguson admitted he is searching for another striker despite the club's £29.3 million outlay on Rio Ferdinand.
United have left the number nine shirt vacant even though they announced would not be making any more big buys this summer following Ferdinand's arrival from Leeds.
Jose Vega, Nuno Gomes' agent, met with the player in Florence yesterday to discuss his options and he told PA International today: "We are analysing several offers.
"Nuno has received important offers from English, Portuguese, Spanish and Italian clubs.
"In the next few days, he will reach a decision because he wants to resolve his situation as soon as possible."
Vega would not be drawn on which clubs had made offers, but he did say that remaining in Italy or returning to Portugal, where he once played for Benfica, were only two of the options the player is mulling over.
"He doesn't mind, as long as he goes to a great club and it has the right conditions," Vega said.
