Irish medical technology firm Alltracel today announced it had made a profit for first time last year.

Irish medical technology firm Alltracel today announced it had made a profit for first time last year.

The company said earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation were €1.2 million, compared to a loss of €1.1 million in 2005.

Revenue rose to €20.1 million from €19.2 million on the back of the commencement of first technology licence revenue in the final quarter.

Operating profit was €315,000 compared to an operating loss of €1.7 million in 2005.

Chief executive officer Tony Richardson said: "Our 2006 focus was on delivering first-time full-year profitability through improved margins and cost controls, developing our proprietary technology to secure revenue through licensing to large scale global partners in our chosen markets and driving continued growth in Westone, our specialist oral care subsidiary."
