Gunmen today ambushed a bus carrying workers from a Shia Muslim district in Baghdad to the city's airport and killed 15 people.
A hospital source said the attack occurred in the Sunni Arab neighbourhood of Amriya in western Baghdad.
According to witnesses, 15 others were injured, and five or six people escaped unhurt when the gunmen attacked the bus.
The Transport Ministry, which controls the airport, is run by supporters of Shia cleric and militia leader Moqtada al- Sadr.
