Anthropologist to examine remains found in Ranelgh

An investigation is currently underway this evening following the discovery of what is believed to be human remains in the garden of a house in the Dublin suburb of Ranelagh.

The remains were found by workmen at the house in Cherryfield Avenue when they were carrying out work in the back garden.

It is understood the bones of two people and were likely to have been there for some time.

An anthropologist is expected to examine the find after State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy was unable to establish if the bones were human.

The house and garden will remain sealed off by forensic officers.
