Dallas - An armed man took children at a day-care centre and some employees hostage yesterday after a botched robbery in the car park of a nearby bank, police said.
The man robbed a customer of the Plano Bank and Trust in an affluent Dallas suburb and then ducked into the Rigsbee Child Development centre to avoid police. Eighteen of the children were released, but about 20 were still being held yesterday.
