A Limerick man has been remanded in custody for sentence for his role in a £90 petrol station armed robbery in 1988.

A Limerick man has been remanded in custody for sentence for his role in a £90 petrol station armed robbery in 1988.

Christopher Curtin returned to Ireland last May after spending 10 years in England as a painter and decorator. He had absconded in 1988 while on bail awaiting trial and was re arrested last June on a bench warrant.

Curtin (28), a married father of two, of O'Malley Park, pleaded guilty to robbery of the Galvone Filling Station in the city on November 14th, 1988.

Judge Frank O'Donnell remanded him for sentence at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court on December 11th. 99£124£1947
