A number of people were arrested by the RUC yesterday after an 18-year-old man was stabbed to death in Antrim town at about 3.30 a.m. Police said they were seeking a number of people who they believed were in the area at the time of the stabbing. A motive for the killing has not yet been established.

The man was attacked at Stiles Way near a cinema and entertainment complex. It is believed he was stabbed in the neck and he died shortly afterwards in Antrim Area Hospital. There has been a number of attacks recently in Antrim. Most have occurred in the early hours after disco closing time and were not sectarian. The teenager stabbed to death was named as Mr Leslie Davidson, from Caulside Park.
