Dublin City University is the first university in the State to be awarded the prestigious QMark by Excellence Ireland. The award is a double first because it has been given to the university library, the first in Ireland to receive such an accreditation for quality.
The award was presented by Mr Sean Conlan, chief executive of Excellence Ireland, to Dr Alan MacDougall, director of the library, at a ceremony yesterday. DCU recently announced a £17.5 million project for a new library and information centre.
