Strasbourg - The leader of the Spanish citizen's group "Basta Ya!" (That's Enough!), which lobbies against violence, yesterday received the European Parliament's prestigious Sakharov Prize on behalf of his collective.
"Through you, the European Parliament pays homage to the victims of terrorism . . . and rewards the physical and moral courage of citizens who dare, at the risk of their lives, to refuse to give in to terrorism," the parliamentary speaker told Mr Fernando Savater.
