The North's Health Minister, Mr John McFall, has announced the setting up of a joint crisis management group to deal with a backlog of nearly 80 patients who are waiting for emergency fracture operations.

"I am determined to ensure that patients with fractures receive the treatment they need as soon as possible, and certainly no later than the two days laid down by current clinical standards," he said.
