Armed raiders escaped with a "substantial quantity" of cash from a cash-in-transit van in Dundalk today.

Armed raiders escaped with a "substantial quantity" of cash from a cash-in-transit van in Dundalk today.

The crew of a cash-in-transit van were in the process of servicing an ATM at the filling station when they were confronted by two men, one of whom was carrying a firearm at around noon on Castletown Road.

The raiders escaped in a blue coloured car with what gardai said was a substantial quantity of cash. No shots were fired and no one was injured in the incident.
