A three-year-old American boy fatally shot himself in the head with a handgun he found in his mother's bedroom.
Bryson Millstead was alone in the room at the family home in Virginia Beach, Virginia, when he discharged the semi-automatic weapon, police said.
The boy's mother Gillian (24) had just left the bedroom. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The boy's father is in the US Navy and is at sea. Police are trying to notify him.
