Beijing - China's cultural watchdogs have tightened their grip over performance art, banning the setting up of foreign theatre groups and calling for more plays that promote socialism, the China Daily said yesterday. New regulations outlaw vulgar, superstitious and pornographic theatrical performances, or shows that threaten national security and social stability, according to the paper.
