The All Party Oireachtas Committee on the Constitution met in private yesterday to discuss submissions made to it on the Green Paper on Abortion.
After the meeting the committee said it had received about 105,000 communications since it invited submissions in September of last year.
The committee inspected some of the material at its meeting yesterday. A statement after the closed session said the committee had asked its secretariat to create a catalogue "which will indicate the sources of submissions and provide a summary of the content of each".
The committee said that when the catalogue was complete, it would be in a position to analyse the submissions and decide what further steps it needed to take.
