Thumbs up: Tesco is to launch its first range of bread made without artificial additives.

It says even its organic loaves currently have some additives in them but its new recipes exclude emulsifiers, flavourings and preservatives.

Thumbs down:It might still be August but Santa Claus is already making his presence felt in London. He was there last week to launch the Christmas World section of Harrods department store. He pulled up in a 1950s-style ice-cream van to a scene of fake snow scattered outside the Knightsbridge store. The shop's 10,000 sq ft Christmas World section has enough festive decorations, gifts and Christmas songs to make a grown man cry.
