The area around the United States Embassy in Ballsbridge in Dublin was sealed this afternoon as gardaí and members of the Army bomb disposal carried out a controlled explosion on a suspect package near the embassy.
Following the controlled explosion at 1.30 p.m., a Garda spokesman said the package had no traces of suspicious material. Traffic in the area was briefly disrupted but has now returned to normal.
