Coventry have put Republic of Ireland defender Gary Breen on the transfer list.
Breen, who helped Mick McCarthy's side secure a place in next year's World Cup finals, had been offered the biggest contract in the English first division club's history but talks have hit a stalemate.
Chairman Bryan Richardson said: "Gary has been offered the biggest contract in the club's history, bigger than Dion (Dublin) and Mustapha (Hadji).
"He has continued to stall over this offer and has made his position quite clear which leaves the club with no option other than to protect its own interests."
