Gardaí have appealed for witnesses following an attack on a Dublin Bus passenger on the Naas Road earlier this week.

A man was injured after being assaulted on a bus on the N7 Naas Road at abpoout 5.20pm on Monday.

Video footage posted online shows a man being repeatedly punched in the face and headbutted by another man before two others join in.

The footage then shows a group helping the victim, who was left lying on the pavement.

A statement from Dublin Bus confirmed that an incident took place on the Dublin Bus route 13 on Monday evening.

Emergency services and gardaí attended the scene.

Dublin Bus said it has downloaded CCTV footage from the vehicle and is investigating the matter.

Gardaí have not yet spoken to the victim and are trying to establish the identity of those involved.

They have called on anyone with information to contact Clondalkin Garda station on 01 666 7600, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
