A 25-year-old man has been arrested this evening in connection with the Dean Johnson murder investigation, following the arrest of two other men in their 20s earlier today.
Mr Johnson (21) was shot dead at Harelawn Green, Clondalkin, on August 24th last year.
At the time, senior officers said they were “shocked” at the level of violence used.
Mr Johnson was initially wounded once in the upper body and fell to the ground.
The gunman stood over him and fired up to 13 further shots into him, mostly to the head.
It was understood the gunman, aided by at least two accomplices, used a semi-automatic handgun.
Two men, both in their 20s, were arrested this morning in Dublin. One of the men is in custody at Lucan Garda station and the other man at Ronanstown Garda station.
A third man (25) was arrested this evening, and is also being held at Ronanstown Garda station.
The total number of people to have been arrested in connection to the investigation is eight.
