An employee who was injured in a robbery at a Dublin bakery in early July died from his injuries today.
Three masked men entered the rear of Clarke's bakery in Cabra and assaulted two employees before tying them up early on the morning of the July 3rd. The raiders then ransacked the premises and fled with the cash.
The alarm was raised a short time later by another member of staff who managed to free his colleagues.
Although the employees were taken to hospital, their injuries were not thought to be life threatening, and both were released shortly afterwards.
Jimmy Louth (66), from Cabra in Dublin, who had worked at the bakery for over 20 years, returned to work a few days after the robbery but later became unwell and slipped into a coma from which he never recovered.
