Ireland's benchmark stock index, the ISEQ Index, rose 0.44 per cent at 8.05am.
The index of 63 companies traded on the Irish Stock Exchange rose 28.13 to 6,452.30. Among the stocks in the index, 12 rose, 6 fell and 45 were unchanged.
Gains in the ISEQ Index were led by CRH, Allied Irish Banks and Ryanair.
