Dundalk crash investigated

The Garda Síochána Ombudsmsn Commission has begun an investigation into a road crash in Co Louth yesterday.

The incident occurred in Dundalk yesterday at about 4pm.

According to the ombudsman's office, the driver of a car whom the gardai sought to interview was seriously injured when he failed to stop and subsequently collided with another car.

The matter was referred to the ombudsman in accordance with section 102 of the Garda Siochana Act 2005.

The ombudsman's office has sent a team to Dundalk to conduct the investigation.
