A health literacy project, just launched by the National Literacy Agency (NALA), aims to raise awareness and knowledge among health practitioners to help them deal with people with poor literacy skills. There are more than 500,000 adults with literacy difficulties in the State and Inez Bailey, project director of NALA, says the project "will attempt to embed the issue into the health system so that adults with literacy difficulties can be better served".
