An elderly man was injured in an attempted post office robbery in Dublin yesterday.

An elderly man was injured in an attempted post office robbery in Dublin yesterday.

The man was grazed by a bullet fired from a handgun used by one of two masked men who held up the Harold's Cross post office at 11.15 a.m.

They threatened staff, firing one shot. They then fled by motorcycle towards Green mount Lane.

The injured man was taken to St James's Hospital.
