MOSCOW - Russian police prevented a demonstration taking place outside the Belarus embassy in Moscow yesterday and detained several people trying to protest against media restrictions in Minsk, witnesses said.
Mr Oleg Panfilov, head of the independent Glasnost Defence Foundation which defends journalists rights, was among those detained but he was released after about 20 minutes, ItarTass news agency said.
