Brussels - EU defence ministers have called on Turkey to stop blocking an agreement that would allow Europe's new Rapid Reaction Force to use NATO military assets, reports Denis Staunton.

They warned Ankara that it was not in Turkey's long-term interest to hinder co-operation between the EU and NATO and expressed the hope that the row would be resolved by the end of this year.
