Mr Kenny has spent nearly 32 years as a TD, having first been elected in November 1975 in a byelection caused by the death of his father, Henry.
Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, along with four other TDs including outgoing Ceann Comhairle Rory O'Hanlon and Ruairí Quinn, are the next longest serving TDs, having been first elected 30 years ago.
However, Independent Jackie Healy-Rae, at 76 years of age, will be the oldest TD in the new Dáil, though he was first elected only 10 years ago.
There were a further three septuagenarians elected, including Fianna Fáil TDs Dr Michael Woods and Rory O'Hanlon, and PJ Sheehan of Fine Gael.
The youngest TD to be elected to the 30th Dáil is 27-year-old Lucinda Creighton, who took a seat for Fine Gael in Dublin South East.
She is one of four TDs in their 20s to be elected to the 30th Dáil.
Newly elected TDs Michael McGrath of Cork South Central and Thomas Byrne of Meath East are the youngest Fianna Fáil members of the Dáil at 29 years of age.
At 61 years of age Dr Martin Mansergh, who took a seat in Tipperary South, is the oldest first-time TD to be elected to the Dáil.
There were a total of 38 first-time deputies elected on Friday, while 30 sitting TDs lost their seats.
The number of women deputies in the Dáil has dropped from 22 to 20.
