Four more US soldiers have been charged with the rape and murder of an Iraqi teenager and killing her family, bringing to five the number of Americans accused of the crimes in March.
The US military said today another soldier was charged yesterday with dereliction of duty for failing to report the case.
Last week a US soldier, now discharged, was charged with rape and murder in a US civilian court over the killiings at Mahmudiya, near Baghdad.
Steven Green (21) appeared briefly in federal court where federal prosecutors said a grand jury would be asked to bring an indictment against him.
Mr Green was charged on June 30th with raping the 16-year-old Iraqi girl and killing her, her parents and her younger sister (10) in their home in Mahmudiya in March.
