Frank Bruno to take on Bell

Former boxer Mr Frank Bruno has said he may stand for Parliament at the next election in direct competition with the independent MP, Mr Martin Bell, it was reported yesterday. Mr Bell, who intends to stand in the Tory-held seat of Brentwood and Ongar, may now face competition from the former heavyweight champion, according to BBC Radio Essex. Mr Bruno, who is starring in the pantomime Goldilocks and the Three Bears, said he will be standing for the Conservative Party.
