A female journalist working for French newspaper Liberationhas disappeared in Iraq, the newspaper said today, but did not say whether she might have been kidnapped.
Ms Florence Aubenas had been working in Iraq since December 16 and Liberationhas had no news of her for 24 hours, the daily said on its website. It said she and her interpreter had not been seen since leaving a Baghdad hotel early yesterday.
Her disappearance came just weeks after the release of French journalists Christian Chesnot and Georges Malbrunot, who were kidnapped in Iraq on August 20. President Jacques Chirac hailed their relesae as a triumph for French diplomacy
