Gardaí have appealed for help in tracing the relatives of a homeless man who died in a Dublin hospital.

Gardaí have appealed for help in tracing the relatives of a homeless man who died in a Dublin hospital.

The man, who is believed to be Canadian, identified himself as Patrick Smith when he was admitted to the accident and emergency department of St James's Hospital on January 29 thlast.

He died in the hospital later that day.

He gave his birth date as September 29 th, 1964 and said he lived at the Salvation Army Hostel, Longford Street, Dublin 2. It is thought he also spent time at the Sancta Maria Hostel on Charlemont Street.
