Limerick gardai have seized 15 guns and about 1,500 rounds of ammunition since the re-emergence of a drug gang feud in the city last year. Recent significant criminal activity included:
Shots fired at the home of a brother of a murdered gang leader, Eddie Ryan, on July 13th. This was the fourth such attack on the house this year.
A father of four died after being stabbed in a dispute with a man in Kennedy Park on June 28th.
Shots fired at a house in St Mary's Park on June 25th.
Two men arrested in Meelick outside the city on June 19th after being found in possession of ecstasy tablets with a street value of about £1 million.
A man received shotgun wounds to his arms and legs in Ballinacurra-Weston on June 15th.
A man fired a shotgun at two drivers of a horse-drawn sulky on the old Cork road on June 13th.
Two men stabbed in separate incidents in city-centre locations on May 5th and 6th.
A gang stole £90,000 in cash and cheques from the credit union in Mungret on May 20th.
A man received a leg wound in the city when shots were fired by a passenger on a motorcycle on April 10th.
A Limerick GAA footballer, Mr Brian Geary, was assaulted in the street by up to four people on April 3rd.
