Up to 500 people have marched through Dún Laoghaire in protest at alterations to Bus services in the Sallynoggin, Killiney, Blackrock and Dalkey areas.

The crowd which included a number of people of reduced mobility gathered at the People’s Park before parading to St Michael’s Church where a rally was held.

The demonstration followed a public meeting involving more than 300 people in Sallynoggin last week.

Ballybrack councillor Hugh Lewis said the alterations to services were imposed by the National Transport Authority but had no consideration of the demographics of the areas. “These areas have a lot of elderly people and others who depend on services and these people were well represented on today’s march,” he said.
