A two-year-old boy has died after he was struck by a car in the driveway of his home in Co Galway yesterday.
The youngster was outside the house in Derrydonnell North, Oranmore, Co Galway yesterday evening when he was struck by a car.
It is understood a parent of the boy had been driving the car at the driveway. The accident happened at 7.15pm yesterday.
The injured boy was taken to University Hospital Galway where he later died from his injuries.
Gardai said a forensic collision investigation team would examine the scene of the accident but it is understood the incident is being treated as a tragedy and no-one is being sought in connection with it.
