Irish Life & Permanent says it has not held talks over a possible takeover by HBOS in response to a newspaper article yesterday.
"Neither the company, nor anyone acting on its behalf, has been involved in any such discussions or talks with representatives of HBOS or anyone acting on its behalf," Irish Life, Ireland's third-biggest financial company, said in a statement.
