AN IRISHMAN has died in a tragic accident after he was crushed against his car while apparently trying to start it near his home in the province of Limburg.

The deceased man, named yesterday as Anthony English (38), from the Dublin area, was an account manager with DHL.

He had been working in the Dutch section of the logistics and courier company after being transferred from the Ireland headquarters a year ago.

In what was described as a bizarre accident by TV networks and media, Mr English became wedged between the door of his MG car and a parked vehicle.

He had been steering the MG car, whose engine was not running, from the outside, but lost control after the vehicle gathered speed down an incline. It veered and glanced off a parked car.
