Mutsamudu - The Anjouan military ruler, Maj Mohamed Bacar, yesterday promised the most severe sanctions against his enemies following a failed military coup on the tiny Indian Ocean island at the weekend.
He made his comments after reports confirmed that the coup attempt in the breakaway Comoran island had been foiled and its mastermind, the former leader Lieut Col Said Abeid Abderemane, had fled.
