At a Stormont Cabinet meeting on September 12th, 1969, ministers discussed broadcasts by illegal radio stations which had sprung up behind the barricades as a result of the August violence. The minister of home affairs, Mr Robert Porter, assured his colleagues that such stations would be "jammed".

Tomorrow, the Dublin State papers on the progress of negotiations to join the EEC, and the battle to stop The Rose Tattoo being staged in Dublin.
