A man has died following a car crash in Drogheda this morning, bringing the number of people killed on our roads since the start of the year to 21.

The married man, aged 57, was travelling in his car at about 10 a.m. on Mornington Road, Drogheda, when it is believed he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a pillar on the other side of the road.

He was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes hospital in Drogheda where he later died.

The man has not yet been named by the gardaí.
