A 23-year-old Laois man who had “brief and essentially exploitative” sex with a teenage girl in Kildare two years ago has been given a two-and-a-half year sentence at the Central Criminal Court. Seán Egan, a father of one, was 20 when he had sex in his car with the then 15-year-old girl.
Egan, with an address at Rathmiles, Portarlington, was found guilty by a jury last month of having sex with a minor at a location in Co Kildare on January 18th, 2007.
Defence counsel Erwan Mill-Arden SC said Egan planned to appeal.
