A man (19) was arrested after drugs with an estimated value of €75,000 were seized in an operation in Limerick, it has emerged.

A Garda spokesman said "a significant amount of cash was also found" in the search of a house in the Dooradoyle area at around 8pm.

"During the course of a house search on Friday night the Drugs Unit at Roxboro Road Garda station found 43 bars of cannabis resin," a Garda spokesman said.

The arrested man was later released and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
