A man is being questioned by gardaí in Cork following the seizure of cannabis resin worth an estimated €1 million last night.

The man was arrested after 150 kilos of the drug were found in a car stopped by detectives between the Dunkettle Roundabout and the Glanmire Bypass before 6pm.

A Garda spokesman said the driver of the city-bound car was arrested under the Drug Trafficking Act and detained at Mayfield Garda Station.

He can be questioned for up to a week without charge.
