Man hurt in Blanchardstown shooting

A man (22) is in hospital today after he was wounded in a shooting in Blanchardstown last night.

A man (22) is in hospital today after he was wounded in a shooting in Blanchardstown last night.

He was shot in the leg after he opened the door of his home in the Whitestown Park area of Blanchardstown, in north west Dublin, at about 11.30 pm.

He attempted to close the door after he was confronted by two men, and shots were fired.

His injuries have been described as not life-threatening.

Gardaí recovered a dark car believed to have been used by the two men.
