A MAN has appeared in court in Limerick charged in connection with an incident in which a car was stolen with a two-year-old child inside.

Noel Price (32), Kileely Road, Limerick, is charged with hijacking the car at Old Cratloe Road, Limerick, on January 20th.

Mr Price appeared before Limerick District Court yesterday where Garda Neil O’Gorman gave evidence of arresting and formally charging him at Henry Street Garda station that morning.

Mr Price made no reply to the charge after caution.

Solicitor Sarah Ryan was assigned to represent Mr Price. Ms Ryan said she was reserving her position on bail but said an application would be made at her client’s next court appearance.

Judge Tom O’Donnell remanded Mr Price in custody to appear before the same court again next Wednesday. He ordered that the State be notified in advance of any bail application.

Mr Price remained silent throughout yesterday’s brief hearing.
