A man who sexually abused his daughter has thanked her for being brave enough to come forward and to expose him.

A man who sexually abused his daughter has thanked her for being brave enough to come forward and to expose him.

The man admitted abusing his daughter a number of times after he got drunk in 2006 and 2007.

Letterkenny Circuit Court heard the man had attended 90 therapy sessions with the National Office for the Prevention of Domestic, Sexual and Gender-based Violence.

Judge John O’Hagan sentenced him to five years in prison.
