Midleton schoolboy Robert Holohan will be remembered at a special anniversary Mass in his native town in Co Cork tomorrow.
The 11-year-old's parents, Mark and Majella, will attend the second anniversary Mass at the Most Holy Rosary Church.
Gardaí who led the investigation into Robert's disappearance and death are also expected to attend the Mass.
Robert Holohan's disappearance from his home in Midleton on January 4th 2005 led to one of the largest searches in the State for a missing person.
On January 12th 2005 Robert's body was found in a ditch at Inch strand, 12 miles from his home.
Robert was buried on January 15th and within 24 hours of the funeral his 21-year-old neighbour, Wayne O'Donoghue, admitted his involvement in the youngster's death.
O'Donoghue insisted that the killing was an accident which occurred after a row escalated. He claimed that he put Robert in a headlock and grabbed him by the throat following a row about going to a fast-food restaurant.
O'Donoghue is currently serving a four-year sentence for manslaughter. He is expected to be released sometime later this year or in early 2008.
Mark and Majella Holohan received a message of support from the mother of missing schoolboy Philip Cairns following Robert's disappearance.
Philip disappeared from his home in Rathfarnham, Dublin, on October 23rd 1986.
He was just 13 years of age when he vanished without trace.
