The North's ministers will be briefed today on the response to last week's flash flooding.
Stormont Finance Minister Peter Robinson last week released £5 million for an emergency fund to help people in Belfast and Omagh whose homes were damaged when the equivalent of the entire rainfall for June fell on those areas in two hours last Tuesday.
"Ministers at the fortnightly cabinet meeting will receive a report on how government departments responded to the flooding, the effectiveness of that response and the steps and actions required in further emergencies," he said.
Regional Development Minister Conor Murphy told MLAs on Monday that the North will need to be prepared for more freak flooding events in the future.
"The executive is determined to review thoroughly the handling of the emergency to identify the areas on which we could do better next time," Mr Murphy said.
