London - A British man charged with child sex offences committed suicide after being targeted by vigilante mobs, newspapers reported this morning. James White (54) took an overdose of sleeping pills at the weekend after he and his wife had spent days on the run, according to the Guardian newspaper.
Public opinion about paedophiles has been inflamed since the abduction and murder of Sarah Payne (8) last month.
