Gardaí have released the names of two teenagers killed in a crash in Co Cavan yesterday.

Shane Mooney (18), of Glasdrummond, Redhills, and Bernard Gilsenan (16), of Carrickmore, Ballyhhaise, Cavan died when their car lost control and crashed into a ditch on the Cavan-to-Clones Road.

Meanwhile, a 37-year-old man died from injuries received following a single vehicle motorcycle accident in Co Laois son Sunday. The 39-year-old driver of the bike died after the vehicle apparently left the road before 8.30 a.m. at Keelogue near Killishin.

The deaths bring the total number of fatalities on the State's roads so far this year to 208.
