London - The woman thought to be Labour's second-richest MP has been appointed parliamentary aide to the Culture, Media and Sport Secretary, Mr Chris Smith, after his former aide was sacked for opposing lone parent benefit cuts.
Ms Fiona Mactaggart, elected as Slough's MP in May, is one of the first of Labour's new intake to be promoted to the rank of Parliamentary Private Secretary. She replaces Ms Alice Mahon.
